This award honors the late Professor Coble, whose enthusiasm and creative energy were directed atputting the field of ceramics on a sound scientific foundation. Professor Coble's lifelong mission was to enhance the achievement and advancement of young ceramic scientists. This award recognizes an outstanding scientist who is conducting research in academia, in industry or at a government-funded laboratory. Candidates must be ACerS members and it is encouraged that they be 35 years of age or younger.

The Nominating Process

Nominations can be made by any individual or group. Nominees will be considered for three consecutive years as long as they meet the age requirements. Updated information regarding nominees will be accepted for subsequent judging. Selection of the awardee will be based on the nominations and accompanying evidence of scientific contributions (e.g., list of publications, selected abstracts, receipt of other awards or recognition).
