Mel Jacobson relates his experiences as a potter in this entertaining and instructive narration. He tells his story by weaving anecdotes of his travels and friendships along with his practical knowledge of studio practices gained over the past three decades working in clay as a student, apprentice, teacher and studio potter. Each chapter relates to a different facet or technique of pottery making, interspersed with stories from his stay in Japan working in Kunio Uchida's pottery, and candid opinions from his contributions to Clayart, an online user group for potters and ceramic artists.
