| WESTERVILLE, Ohio, June 7, 2005 -- The American Ceramic Society (ACerS)
will host UNITECR ‘05, the 9th Biennial Worldwide Congress on Refractories
November 8-11, 2005 in Orlando, Florida, at the Rosen Centre Hotel. This
prestigious global event in the refractories industry is rotated among the
participating countries and will not return to the United States until 2013.
UNITECR is conducted in association with the German Refractory Association
(GRA), the Association Latinoamericana de Fabricantes de Refractarios (ALAFAR),
and The Technical Association of Refractories, Japan (TARJ).
This premier celebration of refractory technology and applications
is expected to attract more than 1,000 attendees and feature over
200 technical presentations providing information on the latest
advances, applications, and successes in refractories. Key refractories
manufacturers, users, technologists, and scientists are expected
to come together to discover and exchange current worldwide refractories
technology.
The associated exhibit will showcase products and services used
in the refractory industry. Suppliers and users of all refractory-related
products and services are urged to attend. Exhibit hours are 9:30
am to 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, and 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Thursday,
November 10.
For more than 18 years, UNITECR has been held biennially on a
rotational basis in each country of the founding members. This
organization has played an important role internationally to foster
the exchange of technical information concerning refractories.
The American Ceramic Society is an international association
of scientists, engineers, industrialists, potters, and artists
who are active in the creation of new products, applications,
and research regarding ceramics and related materials.
