Wiley Forms Book Publishing Partnership with
The American Ceramic Society |
| Hoboken, NJ, February 15, 2006 – Global publisher
John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and The American Ceramic Society (ACerS)
today announced that they have signed a multi-year agreement to jointly
publish
books and meeting proceedings, effective March 2006.
Under the agreement, Wiley and ACerS will co-publish approximately
20-30 books and proceedings per year in the fields of ceramics,
ceramic engineering, glasses, composites, crystallization,
abrasives, cements, whitewares, and advanced ceramics. Wiley
will oversee the publishing services for these titles, including
production, marketing, and distribution worldwide. Wiley and
ACerS will collaborate on editorial development.

Inc. “This agreement brings together the ACerS’s
108 years of experience serving ceramics professionals and
students with Wiley’s 199 years of publishing expertise.
This vast amount of experience will ensure that ACerS members
and the larger international ceramics community are getting
the content they need to do their jobs, conduct research,
and make advancements in their fields.”

content while leveraging Wiley’s extensive publishing

In addition to distributing approximately 30 backlist book
titles published by ACerS, including the best-selling titles
The Magic of Ceramics, Materials Science of Concrete:
Concrete Technology, Introduction to Phase Equilibria
in Ceramics, Glass-Ceramic
Technology, and High Performance Cement Based Concrete
Composites,
Wiley will also distribute 65 backlist meeting publications,
representing important achievements in the field. These publications
include proceedings from the Pacific-Rim Conference, the International
Ceramic Science Symposium, and the Crystallization Conference,
as well as the Ceramic Engineering and Science Proceedings
(CESP). CESP contains proceedings from three ceramic and glass
meetings: the Glass Problems Conference; the International
Conference on Advanced Ceramics and Composites; and the Porcelain
Enamel Institute Technical Forum. CESP is available in advance
on a subscription basis or as individual volumes.
