ACerS and USACA Partner to Better Serve the Ceramics Community
WESTERVILLE, OHIO — The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) and The United States Advanced Ceramics Association (USACA) announce that they have signed a cooperative agreement to share information, collaborate in public affairs activities, and seek projects that will jointly benefit each organization. The agreement is effective April 1, 2004 through April 30, 2006, at which point the organizations will assess the value of the collaboration.

ACerS and USACA desire to reach out to industries and government organizations that have an interest in advanced ceramics and the collaboration will help to enhance each organization’s activities and effectiveness. The focus of the collaboration will be to:
  • Share relevant information with each other and the memberships
  • Cooperate in public and government affairs activities directed to educating the public and legislators on the importance of ceramic materials
  • Seek opportunities to develop joint projects in areas that achieve the common interests of both organizations
ACerS, a 106-year-old non-profit organization, serves the informational, educational and professional needs of its members and the international ceramics community by promoting the development and use of ceramics through forums for knowledge exchange. ACerS’ membership comprises a wide variety of individuals and interest groups including engineers, scientists, researchers, manufacturers, plant personnel, educators, students, marketing and sales professionals, and others in related materials disciplines.

USACA is the premier association that champions the common business interests of the advanced ceramic producer and end-user industries. USACA membership includes both large and small corporations dedicated to the manufacture and use of products utilizing advanced ceramic material systems. USACA sponsors and/or helps facilitate forums throughout the year to exchange information on the advancement of monolithic and ceramic matrix composite, i.e. advanced ceramics.
